Day 56 - Out After Work (Texas Rangers Win!)

The work day seemed to drag on today and I had several meetings.  I was finally feeling better so I went out after work to see the end of the Rangers game which they won to take a 2-0 lead in the series against Tampa Bay.  Some friends met me out they could watch the Nebraska football game on ESPN.  My wife picked up David and put him to bed and having a baby sitter come over before joining us.  I stayed only a little while wanting to get some rest so the cold did not come back.  When I got home I checked on David and he looked up at me as if to say hi dad and went right back to bed.  I wanted the game some from home and went to bed when my wife got home.  Nebraska won the game and looked to be a good addition to the BigTen for next year.

Day 55 - I hate colds

David was in a great mood this morning and so happy to see a waffle was ready for him this morning he was grinning.  I said bye and left for work.  Today at least I got to spend the morning working on some documentation where I did not have to talk much but the afternoon was back to meetings.  The dog was so excited to see David get home tonight but they did not come in right away because there was a "big truck" moving someone down the road so he wanted to go see the truck.  When David finally came inside he and to dog went running to the back of the house.  The first think he did was grab a bunch of balls and say outside.  We talked him into staying inside to play tonight but it took some work. The good news on the day is the Texas Rangers won game one today.

Day 54 - Dad's still sick and no voice

I got up and said goodbye to David and headed to work.  I had a few meeting scheduled where I was doing all the talking.  By the last meeting I had no voice left.  Back at home I was happy to sit on the couch and just relax.  Again Nyquil and in bed by 9:00.

Day 53 - Dad's sick

I woke up this morning and my throat was scratchy and I was nowhere near 100% but I have a full load of work today.  My day started with an 8am meeting to deal with an issue.  After work I ate some leftovers, took Nyquil and went to bed no fun with David tonight.

Day 52 - McNabb Returns to Philly and Bad Grass Seed?

While watching the game last night we got ready for breakfast in the morning so it was nice to wake up to some food.  The plus to David not napping yesterday was that David slept in.  Next up for dad today is cutting the grass.  The existing grass got deep with all the rain and watering but the grass seed did not come in all that well.  After putting more seed in spots I wonder what is the best brand of seed?  After all the yard work it was time for more football.  I was worn out so I wanted to watch in my game room and relax.  The early games were not all that great but then it was time for Redskins vs. Eagles with McNabb returning to Philly.  Redskins won a hard fought game.  During the game I would run in and watch David play with mom.  After the game David and I played in his game room a little while.

Day 51 - Ryder Cup and Pumpkin Patch

This morning after playing a little and watching the Ryder Cup we all went to the local pumpkin patch.  We met our best friends and their three year old son there and the kids had a great time seeing all the animals and ridding on the tractors.  David saw a scary clown but just saw it as a clown and wanted to go up for a closer look but since we were always away we were able to distract him.  after picking out a couple of pumpkins we decided to go to Buffalo wild wings for lunch and since mom was driving I enjoyed a fine beer.  once lunch was over and it was well into nap time we headed to our friends house to hang out while the kids napped.  As luck would having David would not go down for his nap.  So we played a little bit and headed to the store.  When David see the Kroger he knows they have doughnuts so that is what he repeated over and over.  Back at home mom and I made junk food for dinner and to watch the Penn State game.  It was not a very good game for Penn State fans.  Penn State lost to Iowa.

Day 50 - Great Round of Golf

Today did not start off all that great.  I had the day off and hoped to sleep in but as I was laying there I heard David throwing one of his biggest fits yet so I got up to see what was going on with him.  Turns out he also wanted to sleep in and did not want to wear his shoes.  After he left for school I tried to get back to sleep but I could not so I got up and relaxed watching TV before running out and getting David some more golf balls and hitting the course for my own round.  The range was closed so the front nine was not the best but I pulled it together on the back.  Now it was time to play with David and he wanted to play baseball tonight.  He is able to hold his little bat and hit a ball that is pitched to him.  I think it might be more me hitting the bat with the pitch but the timing still has to be there.  Golf or Baseball which sport will he like more?  After putting David to bed mom went out and with nothing on TV I am trying out Pokerstars.net and people really will call anything when there is no money on the line.
